The anti-deviation ability of AUMA electric actuator is very good, and the output thrust or torque is basically constant, which can well overcome the unbalanced force of the medium and achieve the accurate control of the process parameters, so the control accuracy is higher than that of the pneumatic actuator. If the servo amplifier is used, the positive and negative effects can be easily exchanged, and the break signal valve position can be easily set, and the fault must stay in place, which is not done by the pneumatic actuator, the pneumatic actuator uses a set of combined protection system to achieve position preservation.

The main advantages of AUMA electric actuator are high stability and constant thrust that users can apply. The thrust generated by the actuator can reach up to 225000kgf. Only the hydraulic actuator can achieve such a large thrust, but the hydraulic actuator cost is much higher than the electric actuator.

There are two types of AUMA electric actuators, generally divided into partial rotary electric actuators, and multi-rotary electric actuators, the former mainly controls valves that require partial rotation, such as ball valves, butterfly valves, etc., the latter requires multi-turn valves, such as gate valves.

Multi-rotary actuator driven by electric power is one of the commonly used and reliable actuator types. A single - or three-phase electric motor is used to drive gears or worm gears to drive the valve stem nut, which causes the valve stem to create motion to open or close the valve. Multi-rotary electric actuators can quickly drive large valves. In order to protect the valve from damage, the limit switch installed at the end of the valve stroke will cut off the motor power supply, while when the safety torque is exceeded, the torque sensing device will also cut off the motor power supply, the position switch is used to indicate the switching state of the valve, and the handwheel mechanism installed the clutch device can manually operate the valve in case of power failure.

The main advantage of AUMA electric actuators is that all components are installed in a single housing, which integrates all basic and advanced functions in a waterproof, dustproof and explosion-proof housing. The main disadvantage is that in the event of a power failure, the valve can only remain in place, and a fail-safe position can only be achieved by using a backup power system.

This actuator is similar to the electric multi-turn actuator, the main difference is that the output of the actuator is a 1/4 revolution of 90 degrees of motion. The new generation of electric single-turn actuators combines most of the complex functions of multi-turn actuators, such as parameter setting and diagnostic functions using a non-entry user-friendly interface. Single-turn actuators are compact and can be installed on small valves, typically with an output torque of up to 800 kg-m. In addition, as the power required is small, they can be equipped with batteries for fail-safe operation.
